What makes Base Hits unique?

We believe in student success; all students, with the right support, can succeed.

Base Hits offers 1:1 student support. Our main objective is to make sure a student's journey through education and adolescence is a positive and happy one. We are real people helping real students. Every point of contact is meant to be positive and supportive (and tracked and documented!). Whether your student needs assistance with organizing and accomplishing their daily activities or could simply use a boost in self-confidence, Base Hits can help. Started by a teacher--who became a teacher because he wanted to change the experience in the classroom, was convinced school should not be a traumatic experience (it's super long, but inspiring story!). Generally speaking...most teachers come from an authentic place when they start on their paths as teachers; they want the best for their students, really want their students to be better, really want students to "get" the material. Then,... somewhere along the way, after multiple months and years of too many preps and parent-teacher conferences, their soul gets crushed. Simply, yet slowly, they become numb and their fire diminishes into a fraction of what it used to be, and students under their care can suffer. It's a sad fact. It's really not their fault, necessarily; the problem is systemic (again, another long story!) and there needs to be a better way. Students (and parents!) need help now! Base Hits is here to support the learning process!

We ARE experts at building rapport, motivating, and connecting with students on their level.

We ARE experts in organization, efficiency and getting results. Staying organized, focused, and on-track (even getting ahead of the game!) are key elements of the Base Hits mission for every student. Everyone involved will feel involved and supported; it's our mission. We believe supported students are successful students. Even in the most difficult situations, coming from a place of support is key. For everyone.

We ARE NOT a classic or standard tutoring service. We believe the content specialists (i.e. teachers or tutors) have that department covered. (Of course, as a member of your team, we can garner help from teachers or tutors on the subject matter your student may want help with). We can aid students or parents to advocate for their specific academic needs, yet we want students to learn how best to solve problems themselves and continue to be self-sufficient learners for their lifetime. Base Hits is focused on the whole student, helping them learn to be better learners and be good people along the way.

AND

We ARE NOT magicians. Education, as with most everything in life, takes effort. Base Hits, via 1:1 support, will make the effort it takes to get the tasks done, turned in, and without drama.

There's a saying, "if you fail to plan, you plan to fail." We are solution providers. We are in the business of providing solutions for student-oriented problems, which typically arise when students feel disenfranchised or lost in the "system" and unnecessarily afloat among the sea of demands. Being a young adult can be a super tough time; there are seemingly countless lessons to be learned. Regardless of your "position" as student or parent, the feeling of floating around, lost in the shuffle can be distressing. Partnering with Base Hits will reduce the overall stress, get everyone back on track.

Even though Base Hits is fully focused on a student's success, we are a parent-centric program too. We understand the pressures of doing everything, yet feeling it's just not good enough--it's never good enough. Communication with parents is one of many of our strengths. Again, Base Hits, not unlike other services you use to help with your tasks (housecleaning, laundry, meals, landscaping, vehicle maintenance, and taxes) we're here to help you, make your life just a little more positive and stress free.
